Dirk Eitzen is an independent documentary filmmaker and Associate Professor of Film & Media Studies at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA. His documentaries have played all over the country on public television and cable and have garnered numerous prestigious awards, including a Gold Hugo from the Chicago International Film Festival, a Blue Ribbon from the American Film and Video Festival, and a Best of Fest Award from the Columbus Video Festival.
Eitzen's work has also been shown at art museums, including the Art Institute of Chicago, and at international documentary festivals, including Cinema du Re?l. His last hour-long documentary, The Amish and Us, aired on public television stations in Pennsylvania and across the nation in the summer of 1998.
